AAC Content Reviewer – Diné bizaad

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Review and edit AAC materials for cultural precision, language and grammar accuracy, and regional appropriateness.

• Modify wording, vocabulary, and content to align with local communication standards and practical usage requirements.

• Offer expert evaluations and perspectives from the viewpoint of the target regional AAC community.

• Work closely with an internal AAC Content Developer throughout the main project phase.

• Ensure consistency with the established evidence-based language methodology.

• Provide prompt feedback and revisions during weekly remote review sessions.

• Engage in two scheduled weekly meetings with a dedicated AAC Content Developer during the initial three weeks.

• Collaborate effectively across different time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

• AAC Specialist or a professional background in Speech-Language Pathology, Education, or Occupational Therapy.

• Native speaker of Diné bizaad (Navajo), with considerable residence in the target area, ideally including formative school years.

• Proficient written command of Diné bizaad (Navajo).

• Fluent in English.

• Dependable communication practices and responsiveness via email.

• Preferred academic or practical experience in Linguistics.

• Availability for up to 50 hours over an 8-week duration.

• Anticipated commitment of approximately 15 hours per week during the first three weeks.

• Availability for two scheduled weekly sessions in the first three weeks.

• Capability to handle personal taxes as an independent contractor.
