This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist the lead educator in delivering an engaging Core Knowledge curriculum for students in grades K-5.

• Act as a secondary educator in the classroom while not carrying full responsibility for lesson planning, grading/evaluation, and communication with parents.

• Acquire teaching skills through mentorship with a Master Teacher in a classical liberal arts primary school setting.

• Support and promote the mission of Great Hearts by fostering a respectful and intellectually stimulating school community.

• Collaborate with fellow teachers to enhance instruction, facilitate student learning, and manage daily classroom activities.

• Adhere to school policies and encourage a professional and orderly learning environment.

• Engage in faculty meetings, participate in school events, attend conferences, and fulfill assigned responsibilities.

• Commit to continuous professional development and expand knowledge of the classical educational tradition.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is not mandatory for this position.

• An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred but not essential.

• Certain locations (e.g., Title I schools) may necessitate that assistant teachers possess an AA degree, 60 college credit hours, or the ability to pass a ParaPro proficiency examination prior to commencing work.

• Successful completion of a background check and fingerprint clearance is required in accordance with state regulations.

• Local travel may be necessary for training and professional development opportunities.
