This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee a team of 3PL Fulfillment Specialists
• Assist third-party logistics providers and manage inventory to ensure product delivery to customers
• Manage all facets of Slate’s partnership with its 3PL
• Monitor inventory ordered for and stored at the 3PL
• Enhance Slate–3PL interactions and drive improvements in processes and systems to fulfill service-level agreements
• Represent Slate in dealings with warehousing and logistics partners
• Oversee warehousing and fulfillment processes for product delivery to customers
• Serve as the main point of contact between the 3PL and Slate's cross-functional teams
• Take ownership of the commercial relationship with the 3PL
• Evaluate performance metrics and resolve operational challenges to enhance costs and service levels
• Facilitate decision-making with the 3PL to boost effectiveness
• Review and approve monthly 3PL invoices based on shipment, receipt, and inventory records
• Monitor actual expenses against the plan and suggest process enhancements to lower costs
• Oversee outbound packaging requirements and inventory
• Implement and manage a material cycle-counting program
• Track expected shipments and reconcile discrepancies between vendor notifications and physical receipts
• Assist in developing a 3PL ecosystem for Service Parts, Accessories, and Apparel and Merch, including future partner selection
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Material Management, Material Analytics, Operations, or a related field is preferred; practical experience and a proven success record may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, and material management, ideally with direct involvement with 3PLs or warehousing
• At least 2 years of prior managerial experience in a Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Management role is essential
• Demonstrated success in managing relationships with third-party logistics service providers
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of both basic and advanced warehouse management processes and practices
• Proficient in ERP Systems and Project Management tools
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and/or data analysis tools like SmartSheets, Tableau, Alteryx, or other scripting tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in start-up environments
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with external partners and internal teams
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds
• Able to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
