This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise the design and specification of system and network architecture for intricate computer systems.
• Recommend effective transitions to new technology platforms and outline processes for onboarding customers to the Albuquerque, New Mexico Data Center.
• Oversee software and network product solutions, performance, upgrades, enhancements, and disaster recovery efforts.
• Share responsibilities for cost, schedule, and technical program management with the Data Center Program, Facilities, and Operations Managers.
• Manage and support daily operations of the systems team, including oversight, task assignment, scheduling, workflow, performance assessment, and operational costs.
• Develop policies, procedures, and standards for systems and network management.
• Conduct system-wide capacity analysis and provide recommendations for future technical directions and areas of improvement.
• Deliver program management and customer reports that cover SLA compliance, systems and network performance, disaster recovery planning and outcomes, as well as technology forecasts.
• Collaborate on annual ALECS Disaster Recovery drills.
• Establish and maintain relationships with product vendors.
• Oversee personnel, software, network, and disaster recovery program budgets along with associated assets.
• Supervise the design, implementation, and support of system, database, and application backup and recovery solutions.
• Manage and assist with upgrades and maintenance of system, DB2, and related third-party software at or beyond N-1 release levels.
• Collaborate with the Data Center Team and client locations.
• Manage and assist team members across various technical services including systems programming and administration, security administration, network engineering, asset management, procurement, and disaster recovery.
• Oversee and support complex technology software and network solutions, asset management, installation, maintenance, disaster recovery, security, and systems upkeep.
• Act as a board member or chairperson for Change Management, Problem Management, and Risk Management within the Data Center.
• Provide support for technical program management categories across one or more contracts.
• Lead or collaborate on responses to customer, Federal, IRS, or corporate audits, questionnaires, and evaluations.
• Execute program or project risk assessments, management, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure systems comply with customer contract requirements and SLAs.
• Create and maintain schedules for on-call duties, monitoring, upgrades, administration, change management, projects, training, and certifications.
• Coordinate technical and programming efforts with Data Center colleagues, customers, and corporate peers.
• High School diploma with over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green card holder.
• 5 years of practical experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer.
• Hands-on expertise in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting z/OS mainframe environments.
• 5 years of experience in a technical lead or project lead capacity supporting senior-level technical teams.
• 5 years of experience in analyzing and resolving system software and/or network issues.
• Preferred: experience in supporting data center environments, including hosting, infrastructure services, and systems programming.
• Preferred: experience providing technical leadership in data center outsourcing or managed services settings.
• Preferred: strong foundation in enterprise mainframe technologies.
• Preferred: experience with installing, maintaining, and configuring z/OS mainframe software and related subsystems.
• Preferred: experience in a 24x7x365 service delivery environment, including participation in on-call rotations, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred: experience in supporting disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Preferred: experience with Firm Fixed Price programs or contracts.
• Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
