Youth Advocacy Program Manager – Bilingual, Spanish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily administration and execution of the International Youth Congress.

• Keep project plans, calendars, meeting schedules, participation records, and program documentation organized.

• Manage budgets, reporting, payments, and program expenditures.

• Assist the Development and Brand and Communications teams with International Youth Congress initiatives.

• Monitor deliverables, follow-up items, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

• Facilitate the onboarding and continuous engagement of International Youth Congress members.

• Coordinate communications with youth participants, staff, advisory board members, consultants, and partner organizations.

• Oversee program databases, contact lists, resource libraries, and participant records.

• Create and uphold operational systems that enhance efficiency, accountability, and positive participant experiences.

• Act as the main point of contact for International Youth Congress members.

• Provide light case coordination and youth development support through regular check-ins and relationship-building efforts.

• Connect participants with resources and support systems at local Covenant House sites.

• Identify barriers to participation and collaborate with site staff to facilitate youth success.

• Foster a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive environment.

• Support youth leaders with travel, training participation, public speaking, and leadership development opportunities.

• Organize virtual training sessions, workshops, leadership meetings, partner gatherings, and community-building events.

• Lead logistical planning for domestic and international meetings, retreats, and conferences.

• Handle travel arrangements, participant communications, accommodations, stipends, accessibility needs, and event materials.

• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, facilitators, and guest speakers.

• Aid in the facilitation of meetings and trainings.

• Assist with legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts through administrative tasks.

• Support external engagement with partners, coalitions, researchers, youth-serving organizations, and advocacy stakeholders.

• Coordinate staff, sites, and partners for youth involvement in advocacy opportunities, research projects, conferences, and public events.

• Help with information gathering, meeting preparation, and partnership follow-up.

• Contribute to special projects that enhance youth leadership and systems-change initiatives across the federation.

• Report directly to the Vice President of Youth Advocacy, Planning, and Strategic Partnerships.

• Supervise members of the International Youth Congress.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in youth development, social services, advocacy, program coordination, nonprofit management, or related fields.

• Experience working directly with young individuals who have faced housing instability, homelessness, trafficking, foster care involvement, or other significant life challenges.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish, encompassing verbal and written communication and bicultural competency.

• Experience managing complex projects, events, or programs with multiple stakeholders involved.

• Strong organizational and project management abilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Proven capability to handle competing priorities and fulfill commitments.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, and project management tools.

• Willingness to travel to New York City once per year in early October.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

• Bachelor's degree in social work, education, or equivalent lived and professional experience in systems affecting young people (preferred).

• Experience coordinating advisory boards, youth councils, leadership programs, or community engagement initiatives (preferred).

• Background in coalitions, cross-sector partnerships, or community-based collaborations (preferred).

• Familiarity with homelessness, housing policy, anti-trafficking initiatives, youth development, or related social justice issues (preferred).

• Experience supporting virtual learning communities, trainings, fellowship models, or leadership development programs (preferred).

• Experience as an educator and/or in developing learning curriculum (preferred).

• Experience as a social worker assisting vulnerable populations (preferred).

• Knowledge of trauma-informed, positive youth development, and participatory leadership practices (preferred).

• Applied understanding of safeguarding and child and youth protection approaches and best practices (preferred).
