Writer, Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead the creation, writing, editing, and management of a portfolio of current grants.

• Work collaboratively with development, conservation, and finance teams to obtain and manage institutional funding.

• Craft engaging and persuasive grant proposals.

• Supervise grant reporting and ensure compliance with all requirements.

• Keep accurate grant records and track submission deadlines.

• Identify potential funding opportunities.

• Prepare proposals and detailed reports.

• Convert programmatic and technical information into clear, persuasive narratives.

• Manage multiple grant-writing and reporting initiatives concurrently.

• Act as project lead on designated initiatives.

• Ensure accountability for project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

• Collaborate with Development to resolve complex issues.

• Collect information from various departments and ensure adherence to grant requirements.

• Operate independently within established program goals and priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in creating communication tools for organizations or companies, including brand development.

• Skilled in writing, editing, and proofreading targeted messages for diverse audiences.

• Experience presenting to a variety of audiences, including internal and external executives, donors, members, board members, and the public, or similar experience.

• Demonstrated ability to implement and manage multiple complex projects effectively.

• Multi-lingual skills are a plus.

• Experience in multicultural or cross-cultural settings is preferred.

• Background in developing, implementing, and assessing communication and engagement strategies.

• Experience in journalism or fundraising writing and editing is advantageous.

• Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication abilities.

• Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.

• Knowledge of current and evolving trends in the relevant field.

• Capability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
