Wound Care Telemedicine Physician – Supervising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct telemedicine consultations and perform initial assessments of wounds to establish the diagnosis, identify wound etiology, and formulate a plan of care.

• Evaluate wound photographs, measurements, and ongoing documentation to monitor healing progress and modify treatment as necessary.

• Guide the selection of dressings, offloading and compression techniques, debridement strategies, and manage infections, including antibiotic stewardship.

• Assess eligibility for advanced treatment options and cellular/tissue-based products, documenting medical necessity in accordance with payer coverage policies.

• Oversee and provide clinical guidance to Nurse Practitioners conducting in-home wound care visits.

• Recognize wounds that require escalation and facilitate referrals for vascular, surgical, or higher-level care.

• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of medical records while upholding clinical governance standards.

• Cultivate a compassionate and patient-centered environment.

• Offer specialized telemedicine wound care supervision for patients located in South Carolina and North Carolina.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed as a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a permanent, active, unrestricted license issued by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.

• Actively practicing within the geographic boundaries of South Carolina.

• Possess a permanent, active, unrestricted license issued by the North Carolina Medical Board.

• Credentialed, or willing and able to complete the credentialing process, with North Carolina payors, including Medicare, NC Medicaid, and contracted commercial plans.

• A clean credentialing history, free of payor sanctions, exclusions, or unresolved malpractice cases.

• Clinical experience in managing wound care.

• Certification through the American Board of Wound Management (CWSP) or an equivalent certification is highly preferred.

• Experience in supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers.

• Comfortable using telehealth platforms and conducting photo-based wound assessments.

• Availability for patient consultations and provider oversight between 8 am and 6 pm.
