This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee a varied caseload throughout the Lower Mainland, with occasional travel to other areas within British Columbia
• Carry out thorough workplace investigations utilizing video-recorded interviews and a trauma-informed methodology
• Conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, and pertinent witnesses
• Collect and assess emails, records, policies, procedures, electronic evidence, video, and photographic material
• Investigate issues related to bullying and harassment, sexual harassment, discriminatory harassment, and breaches of conduct or policy
• Deliver clear, logical, coherent, impartial, and defensible findings to clients
• Undertake intellectual property investigations through site visits
• Accurately document files, including file activities, collected information, and video recordings
• Provide necessary status updates to clients
• Stay updated on industry standards
• Engage in staff meetings and training sessions
• Attend court or legal proceedings as necessary
• Report to the Regional Manager
• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant work experience
• Preference for candidates with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in workplace investigations
• Training or certification in investigative interviewing and trauma-informed interviewing
• Experience in labour relations and workplace investigations involving bargaining unit employees is preferred
• Familiarity with all levels of the Canadian court system, insurance law, and privacy legislation is advantageous
• A valid Private Investigator License issued by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General
• A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
• Access to a reliable vehicle currently licensed for business/commercial use
• Capability to collect, analyze, and disseminate investigative findings promptly
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel
• Outstanding communication and writing abilities
• Capacity to perform under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
• Client-focused, results-driven, decisive, and adept at creative problem-solving
• Successful completion of a criminal record check as a prerequisite for employment
