This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the ongoing progression of the California Mathematics Alignment Project and associated Roadmap recommendations.
• Supervise professional learning programs, research initiatives, and pilot projects.
• Create, implement, and oversee grant management.
• Assist in policy formulation, outreach, and execution.
• Manage engagement with stakeholders and contractors.
• Develop strategic communication plans and provide evaluation support.
• Oversee the Learning Lab’s portfolio of mathematics grant projects.
• Conduct research and interviews that support grant opportunities, research initiatives, professional development, and pilot projects.
• Establish and maintain strategic outreach and public communications.
• Manage the RFP process from initiation to grant awards, ensuring state compliance.
• Offer technical assistance to grantees.
• Approve invoices and requests for budget and scope-of-work changes.
• Conduct check-ins and cohort meetings with grantees.
• Develop or supervise the creation of research briefs and reports.
• Foster the growth of mathematics-related communities.
• Facilitate posts on Substack, LinkedIn, and other media outlets.
• Act as the primary liaison with constituencies, external organizations, and contractors.
• Recruit and manage peer review processes, selection committees, and briefings on processes and awards.
• A minimum of eight (8)+ years of experience in research, data analysis, program development, and communications.
• Experience in research and evaluation.
• Preferred experience in managing or developing programs.
• Preferred background in strategic communications.
• Familiarity with and experience in California's public higher education systems, policy, and research.
• Preferred understanding of and experience with K-12 education systems and California state agencies, boards, and commissions.
• Preferred experience working directly with faculty in higher education and/or K-12 teachers.
• Knowledge of policy and research pertaining to mathematics education in California.
• Experience in developing and implementing funding opportunities or RFPs.
• Familiarity with grantmaking opportunities in higher education for UC, CSU, and California Community Colleges.
• Must be a California resident.
• Availability for 30–40 hours per week.
