Workers Compensation Claims Examiner, Litigation Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate Lost-Time Workers Compensation claims on behalf of clients to ascertain entitled benefits.

• Maintain continuous adjudication of claims in accordance with service expectations, industry standards, and client service requirements.

• Review and manage claims through action plans aimed at achieving timely resolutions.

• Conduct investigations and collect information to assess claim exposure.

• Negotiate claim settlements within the assigned authority limits.

• Communicate updates on claim activities and processing with both claimants and clients.

• Report claims to the excess carrier.

• Respond in a professional and timely manner to requests for guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Significant litigation experience is required.

• Knowledge of jurisdictions: DE, IL, LA, MO, NJ, OK, TN, TX.

• Licensing is required in the home state plus DE, LA, OK, TX.

• Ability for clear and conceptual thinking.

• Excellent judgment, troubleshooting skills, problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and discretion.

• Capability to manage work-related stress.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in computer keyboarding.

• Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.
