This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Design, develop, implement, support, and enhance architectural strategies that align with business capabilities and stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure the completeness, integrity, practicality, and suitability of architecture.
• Utilize business and technology expertise to enable or modify business processes, practices, and systems.
• Provide strategic consultation regarding business processes, enterprise solutions, technologies, and capability needs.
• Engage in enterprise strategy development, environmental assessments, opportunity identification, value case formulation, and business innovation portfolio creation.
• Specify and design large or complex systems, solutions, and processes.
• Choose design standards, methodologies, tools, and architecture components; evaluate system designs for technological appropriateness, resource efficiency, and integration.
• Assess major design alternatives, balancing functional, service quality, and systems management requirements.
• Develop architectures, component requirements, specifications, and implementation strategies.
• Advise on technical aspects of system development, integration, and processes.
• Establish and communicate user requirements, characteristics, and tasks for systems.
• Lead improvement initiatives and ensure tangible business benefits.
• Oversee enterprise change management processes and offer recommendations regarding their impact on affected teams.
• Resolve complex architectural and business challenges and guide intricate business initiatives.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of applications and technical environments.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, technical guidance, and training to peers, developers, management, and business partners.
• Set criteria to evaluate complex decisions and enhance system design or performance.
• Manage difficult relationships with vendors, peers, and team members.
• Reinforce IT principles, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Travel to WVUHS facilities or affiliated sites as required for implementations, training, and support.
• Accept on-call duties and respond via phone or in-person in accordance with departmental policy.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, computer science, business, informatics, or a related field, along with eight years of experience in system analysis with business, clinical, or administrative applications; OR a high school diploma or equivalent with twelve years of experience in the same domain.
• Additional certification may be necessary and will be provided by WVUHS Information Technology; completion is required within four months of formal certification training.
• 5 to 7 years of experience with Workday.
• Experience in a healthcare system or environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with data integration, application roadmaps, and/or technical and workflow architecture is preferred.
• Intuitive and comprehensive understanding of highly complex system designs, environmental strategies, and performance in unstable, dynamic, or crisis situations.
• Ability to provide expert technical guidance and lead complex business initiatives.
• Capacity to offer leadership and mentoring to peers, developers, management, and business partners.
• Proficient in managing challenging relationships with vendors, professional peers, and team members.
• Willingness to accept on-call responsibilities and respond by phone or on-site as per departmental policy.
• Ability to comply with WVUHS and assigned entity policies, procedures, and standards.
• Certification training and additional certifications provided by WVUHS Information Technology.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
