Director, Architecture, Design & Construction – Lifestyle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide technical and construction guidance throughout all stages of development

• Evaluate design and construction documents to ensure they meet Hilton standards and project goals

• Influence choices to enhance design, brand representation, operational effectiveness, and commercial value

• Conduct site assessments, identify potential risks, and facilitate swift resolutions

• Promote Lifestyle experiences that are influenced by design, food and beverage, and cultural trends

• Develop long-lasting trust with owners and establish Hilton as a strategic ally

• Collaborate with Development to foster growth and secure suitable projects

• Transform Brand vision into culturally pertinent and commercially viable hotels

• Work with AD&C Design to improve design quality, guest satisfaction, and food and beverage offerings

• Lead developments, conversions, adaptive reuse projects, and brand transitions from pre-signing to opening

• Define project vision, delivery strategy, milestones, and responsibilities

• Supervise design and construction while balancing Brand vision, operational efficiency, and business priorities

• Guide value engineering efforts without sacrificing design quality or guest experience

• Anticipate potential risks, eliminate obstacles, and make timely decisions

• Ensure accurate reporting of projected starts, openings, milestones, and risks

• Facilitate communication and hold both internal and external teams accountable for actions, timelines, and quality

• Travel across North America for meetings with owners, design reviews, site inspections, and openings

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, Construction, or a related discipline

• Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in managing development projects, including design, construction, or renovations

• Seven (7) years of experience in reading and interpreting construction documents, including architectural and engineering plans

• Experience in design, construction, or renovations within the hospitality sector, particularly for Lifestyle-branded hotels

• Willingness to travel up to 40–50%

• Relevant professional licenses or certifications such as Architect, Engineer, Interior Designer (NCIDQ), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are advantageous

• Exceptional presentation skills, capable of conveying complex concepts into clear and compelling narratives for senior leadership

• Proficient in the use of AI tools

• Familiarity with Bluebeam
