Lead Application Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Design and create IT application architecture solutions that align with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.

• Conduct technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications.

• Formulate specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.

• Evaluate compatibility and integration of proposed standard products/services.

• Provide strategic advice to executives on significant functional strategies.

• Lead the architecture design, governance, and strategic direction for the Specialty Integration Hub.

• Define, establish, and uphold integration architecture standards, design principles, and best practices.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to convert business objectives into technology solutions and delivery roadmaps.

• Propel enterprise API, data integration, and cloud architecture strategies.

• Offer architectural leadership throughout solution lifecycles, including design reviews, technology evaluations, risk assessments, and governance oversight.

• Mentor and support technical teams.

• Coordinate with other architects on key deliverables and timelines.

• Oversee end-to-end application architecture for Specialty across systems of experience, operations, and insight.

• Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• At least 8 years of experience as a senior developer involved in large IT projects.

• Extensive experience in designing scalable, secure enterprise solutions using Microsoft Azure.

• Proficient in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services, and Azure Functions.

• Expertise in architecting big data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures.

• Familiarity with Delta Lake, Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Strong background in designing secure API layers utilizing Azure API Management (APIM).

• Experience with REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.

• Knowledge of integrating third-party SaaS products through event-driven architectures.

• Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus, or Kafka.

• Proven experience in implementing modern DevOps practices.

• Demonstrated passion for contributing to an organization dedicated to continuously enhancing consumer experiences.

• Access to home internet with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
