Wolof/English OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Senegal.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of ethics.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the healthcare and medical industry.

• Accurately convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Uphold industry standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader as needed.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Wolof."

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an added advantage.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and a capacity for cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
