This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and mission-oriented focus of Windows, SQL Server, and Citrix infrastructure for the U.S. Army Human Resources Command.
• Install, secure, recover, patch, back up, modernize, archive, and decommission both physical and virtual servers.
• Construct and provision physical and virtual servers utilizing standalone, clustered, high-availability, and fault-tolerant configurations.
• Configure server parameters, network services, IP addresses, hardware, and software; troubleshoot and confirm service functionality.
• Develop and maintain directory services, identity management systems, organizational units, and global policies.
• Conduct performance testing and optimization; monitor and report on system utilization and service capacities.
• Plan, execute, and document changes to mission-application baselines and architecture.
• Assist in code deployments for mission applications.
• Migrate server-hosted applications to both public and private cloud environments; ensure service verification and validate data-system interfaces.
• Create, maintain, image, and script logical containers and automation components.
• Verify data owners, authorized submitters, logon IDs, permissions, and system security configurations.
• Install, secure, and troubleshoot website-hosting servers, web-application servers, and related websites.
• Deploy applications, update website content, and apply security updates; configure authentication and authorization protocols.
• Perform additional tasks as required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Practical experience administering Windows Server systems in an enterprise or Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
• Hands-on experience managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server, including configuration, backup/restore, maintenance plans, and performance optimization.
• Experience in administering Citrix environments, including Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktop, StoreFront, Director, and Delivery Controllers.
• Experience managing and supporting virtualized environments using VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• Security+ certification or a higher-level certification.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Understanding of DoD IT systems, STIGs, RMF, and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across server, application, and network environments.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement solutions in mission-critical settings.
• Capability to produce clear documentation and adhere to DoD change management procedures.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with industry-standard computer software and databases.
• Ability to manage confidential information with a high level of sensitivity.
• Physical capability to perform extended repetitive keyboarding; occasional kneeling, bending, and twisting; regular reaching below shoulder height and occasional reaching at or above shoulder height.
• Preferred experience with U.S. Army enterprise network (AEI), NETCOM, or HRC systems.
• Preferred knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and system maintenance.
• Preferred experience with DoD monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, SCOM, Nessus/ACAS.
• Preferred certifications include Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Citrix CCA-V/CCP-V, and SQL Server certifications.
