Wind Turbine Blade Repair Technician, Level 3 – Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Examine and record both internal and external damage to blades, ensuring to include photographic documentation and comprehensive reporting.

• Execute coating and structural repairs on blades, focusing on leading/trailing edges, tips, and internal components, in accordance with engineering specifications.

• Carry out Category 1–5 composite repairs independently.

• Operate at heights of up to 300 ft utilizing rope access or platform systems.

• Accurately complete and submit service reports and Daily Work Reports (DWR) using mobile technology.

• Review and forward repair documentation to the Operations and Engineering teams.

• Relay site progress and challenges to internal teams and clients.

• Assist in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for wind turbine generators.

• Help with site preparation, including coordinating labor and materials.

• Conduct rigging and de-rigging tasks as necessary.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and engage in hazard assessments and safety meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess Full GWO Certification (BST, ART, BTT).

• Preferred or required certifications include Arc Flash / NFPA 70E, Confined Space & Rescue, WHMIS, Respirator Fit Testing, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and IRATA or SPRAT Rope Access Certification depending on the project.

• Background in blade repair, composites, or comparable mechanical work.

• Demonstrate strong mechanical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Comfortable working at heights and in diverse weather conditions.

• A team-oriented individual with effective communication skills.

• Hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Ability to pass a background check.

• Willingness to travel extensively across Canada.

• Physically capable of fulfilling job responsibilities.

• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada.
