This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Ensure optimal functionality and performance at the wind site through daily turbine operations, maintenance, safety protocols, quality assurance, and warranty repairs.
• Fulfill contractual obligations and customer expectations in collaboration with site leadership.
• Work on the electrical and mechanical systems associated with GE wind turbine generators.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, or part replacements to rectify malfunctions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Assist in all aspects of site operations as directed by the manager while working with minimal oversight.
• Execute diagnostic electrical analysis.
• Record all tasks using computer-based service reporting methods.
• Collaborate and communicate with GE’s remote operations center when needed.
• Coordinate with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract requirements and deadlines.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Capability to handle repetitive weights of approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet on a daily basis.
• Must comply with specified manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs, including required gear.
• Proficiency in understanding electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and be on-call as per site requirements.
