This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Ensure optimal performance and output at the wind site.
• Conduct daily operations of turbines, necessary maintenance, safety tasks, quality assurance, and warranty repairs.
• Fulfill contractual obligations in line with customer requirements and daily operations.
• Work with electrical and mechanical systems utilized in GE wind turbine generators.
• Maintain, repair, or replace components to resolve malfunctions.
• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Assist in all areas of site operations as instructed by the manager with minimal oversight.
• Perform diagnostic electrical assessments.
• Record all tasks using computer-based service reporting systems.
• Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when required.
• Partner with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract obligations and meet deadlines.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Capability to manage repetitive weights of approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
• Comply with specified manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs, including necessary gear.
• Proficient in understanding electrical schematic diagrams, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Willingness and ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call as per site requirements.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic fields is preferred.
• Experience with wind turbines.
• Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in using hydraulic power tools.
• Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and knowledge of crane and rigging protocols.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
