
Wide Format Service Technician – Traveling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver both phone and on-site technical assistance to customers.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, software upgrades, machine modifications, retrofits, and preventive maintenance on production printing equipment.
• Execute equipment installations, deinstallations, relocations, and provide training for customer operators.
• Follow up with customers post-installation to confirm that their expectations have been met and that the equipment is functioning correctly.
• Organize and manage upcoming installations, ensuring site readiness by confirming requirements like power availability, forklift scheduling, and RIP software compatibility.
• Fulfill service calls in accordance with company standards and service agreements.
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding equipment and offer guidance on color management and production workflows.
• Acquire a working knowledge of Onyx software and RIP systems to support customer print production environments.
• Comprehend how RIP software manages print production and aid customers with general operational inquiries.
• Engage in ongoing training programs to stay updated on products, software, and service procedures.
• Support sales teams by identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades and assisting with technical assessments.
• Maintain precise service records and documentation.
• Function effectively in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• A minimum of 2–6 years of relevant field service experience.
• Experience in servicing and repairing wide format equipment and associated technology.
• Strong preference for experience with Canon wide format printing equipment.
• Preferred working knowledge of Onyx software and production RIP workflows.
• Solid understanding of computers and networking.
• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient understanding of Windows operating systems and related applications.
• Capability to work independently from a home office environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, primarily across the Central and Eastern United States.
