
Wide Format Service Technician – Traveling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver both phone and in-person technical assistance to clients.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, software upgrades, machine modifications, retrofits, and preventive maintenance on production printing equipment.
• Execute the installation, deinstallation, relocation of equipment, and provide training for customer operators.
• Follow up with clients post-installation to ensure their expectations are met and that the equipment functions correctly.
• Manage and coordinate upcoming installations, ensuring site readiness requirements are confirmed, such as power availability, forklift scheduling, and RIP software compatibility.
• Complete service calls in accordance with company standards and service agreements.
• Assist customers with inquiries related to equipment and offer guidance on color management and production workflows.
• Acquire a working knowledge of Onyx software and RIP systems to support customers in their print production environments.
• Understand how RIP software manages print production and help customers with general operational queries.
• Engage in ongoing training programs to keep up-to-date with products, software, and service procedures.
• Support sales teams by identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades and aiding in technical evaluations.
• Maintain precise service records and documentation.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• A minimum of 2–6 years of relevant field service experience.
• Experience in servicing and repairing wide-format equipment and related technologies.
• Preference for experience with Canon wide-format printing equipment.
• Preferred working knowledge of Onyx software and production RIP workflows.
• Strong understanding of computer systems and networking.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Proficient in Windows operating systems and related applications.
• Highly driven with the ability to work independently from a home office setting.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, mainly across the Central and Eastern United States.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
