
Wide Format Service Technician – Traveling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Deliver technical assistance to customers via phone and on-site visits.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, software updates, equipment modifications, retrofits, and preventive maintenance on production printing machinery.
• Execute equipment installations, deinstallations, relocations, and provide training for customer operators.
• Follow up with clients post-installation to verify that their expectations are fulfilled and that the equipment is functioning correctly.
• Organize and manage future installations, ensuring site readiness by confirming power availability, scheduling forklifts, and checking RIP software compatibility.
• Perform service calls in accordance with company standards and service agreements.
• Assist clients with equipment inquiries and offer advice on color management and production workflows.
• Acquire a solid understanding of Onyx software and RIP systems to aid customer print production settings.
• Engage in continuous training programs.
• Support sales teams by recognizing opportunities for equipment upgrades and contributing to technical assessments.
• Keep precise service records and documentation.
• Thrive in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
• A minimum of 2–6 years of relevant field service experience.
• Experience in servicing and repairing wide format equipment and associated technology.
• Preference for candidates with experience in Canon wide format printing equipment.
• Familiarity with Onyx software and production RIP workflows is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in computer and networking concepts.
• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
• Robust mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in Windows operating systems and related applications.
• Highly driven, capable of working independently from a home office.
• Willingness and ability to travel around 50% of the time, mainly across the Central and Eastern United States.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
