Weekend PRN Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Receive and manage incoming patient referrals from hospitals, providers, and various referral sources.

• Assess referrals for completeness and precision.

• Confirm that necessary orders and supporting documentation have been acquired.

• Follow up with referral sources to gather any missing information.

• Accurately enter and maintain patient demographics, insurance, and clinical data in the EMR.

• Conduct insurance eligibility and benefit verification.

• Regularly review and reconcile insurance changes.

• Keep referral records organized and precise.

• Navigate through electronic referral portals and healthcare systems efficiently.

• Process referrals via hospital and provider platforms.

• Liaise with hospital case managers and discharge planners when additional details are required.

• Monitor incoming referrals and prioritize tasks based on urgency.

• Maintain professional communication with referral sources, providers, patients, Sales, and Operations.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams to facilitate timely referral processing.

• Assist in resolving discrepancies in documentation or information.

• Uphold patient information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.

• Manage confidential medical and insurance information with precision and discretion.

• Ensure all documentation is complete, organized, and maintained appropriately.

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in medical intake, referral processing, healthcare administration, or a comparable healthcare setting.

• Familiarity with navigating EMR systems.

• Experience handling medical referrals and documentation.

• Proficient in insurance verification and eligibility processes.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Capability to manage a high volume of information while ensuring precision.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong customer service aptitude.

• Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and patient requirements.

• Residency in Florida is mandatory.

• Capacity to maintain a quiet, professional, HIPAA-compliant home office.

• Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Preferred experience with hospital referral portals such as Aiden, naviHealth, CarePort, Mayo, or similar platforms.

• Preferred experience in a home health or healthcare intake department.

• Preferred familiarity with multiple EMR platforms.

• A clinical or healthcare background such as Medical Assistant, CNA, or similar is preferred.

• Preferred experience in a high-volume healthcare environment.

• Successful completion of an AHCA Level 2 background screening may be required.
