This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the WordPress back end, encompassing custom post types, taxonomies, custom fields, template logic, as well as custom PHP plugin/theme functionality, gated content, dynamic and personalized content, form logic, and campaign infrastructure.
• Oversee the plugin strategy and schedule upgrades for PHP, WordPress core, themes, and plugins, ensuring thorough staging tests prior to production releases.
• Manage Elementor at the platform level, which includes custom widgets and optimizing performance and markup.
• Maintain local, staging, and production environments with version control and detailed documentation of deployments.
• Ensure site reliability and infrastructure, covering aspects like monitoring, alerting, caching, CDN, database and query optimization, image delivery, Core Web Vitals, hosting, DNS, SSL, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Take responsibility for website security, which involves hardening, vulnerability scanning and patching, implementing least-privilege access, MFA/SSO, and managing incident responses.
• Uphold compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, consent-mode, and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Handle technical SEO, which includes ensuring crawlability, managing sitemaps, schema markup, monitoring with SEMrush, backlink remediation, and conducting diagnostics using Google Search Console.
• Manage tracking through GA4, Google Tag Manager, HubSpot tracking, and server-side tagging.
• Construct and maintain integrations between WordPress, HubSpot, and marketing and sales systems via APIs and webhooks.
• Document architecture, integrations, credential management, processes, runbooks, QA standards, and pre-release checklists.
• Collaborate daily with the Front-End Designer & Developer, providing support to marketing stakeholders through technical scoping, estimates, and clarifications regarding risks and trade-offs.
• Utilize Tenna-approved AI tools for debugging, code reviews, log triage, test generation, and documentation, ensuring that AI-assisted code is thoroughly reviewed, tested, and security-checked.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional back-end web development experience, with a significant focus on WordPress.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, web development, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in supporting a B2B SaaS marketing site and demand generation team is advantageous.
• Familiarity with marketing operations or revenue operations is a plus.
• Proficient in PHP and MySQL.
• Fluent in WordPress APIs, including hooks and filters, REST API, and WP-CLI.
• Capability to read, write, and debug custom plugin code.
• Practical JavaScript skills for debugging interactions between front-end and back-end.
• Experience with version-controlled workflows from staging to production, disciplined change management, and rollback capabilities.
• Technical experience with Elementor, including an understanding of performance and markup considerations.
• Hands-on experience with SEMrush for monitoring site health, remediating site audits, auditing backlinks, and triaging technical issues.
• Proven track record in managing website security, including hardening, vulnerability management, backups, and incident response.
• Experience with managed WordPress hosting solutions like WP Engine, as well as knowledge of CDNs, caching layers, and DNS management.
• Strong technical SEO knowledge, covering Google Search Console, crawl diagnostics, schema markup, redirect strategies, and ensuring site migration integrity.
• Hands-on experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementation.
• Understanding of consent management and web privacy regulations.
• Experience with API integrations, preferably with HubSpot or a similar marketing automation platform.
• Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA and related technical compliance work.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools and skillful in reviewing, testing, and securing generated code and dependencies.
• Strong written communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs, risks, and timelines to non-technical marketing stakeholders.
• Excellent documentation practices and the ability to establish repeatable processes.
• Work samples that demonstrate technical judgment are mandatory.
