Web Automation Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain a scalable web automation framework for both API and UI/functional testing.

• Create test strategies, test plans, and automation suites utilizing Playwright (Python/TypeScript) for web applications.

• Construct reusable, modular page objects and components to enhance test reuse and maintainability.

• Execute API testing strategies (REST/GraphQL) that are integrated with UI tests when applicable.

• Produce clear, maintainable automated tests featuring strong assertions and meaningful reporting.

• Integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins.

• Set up test data management, environment handling, and provisioning of test environments.

• Implement parallel test execution, manage flaky tests, retry strategies, and ensure test isolation.

• Monitor test outcomes, analyze failures, and deliver timely root cause analyses.

• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to achieve quality objectives.

• Document framework usage, coding standards, and create thorough onboarding materials.

• Keep abreast of automation tooling trends and recommend enhancements to the testing infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of practical experience in web automation testing.

• Strong expertise in Playwright (Python/TypeScript) for comprehensive web testing.

• Proven experience in constructing automation frameworks from scratch.

• Proficient in Python/TypeScript with a solid understanding of software design patterns.

• Background in API testing (REST/GraphQL) and integrating API tests with UI tests.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks (pytest, unittest).

• Strong grasp of CI/CD integration and test reporting methodologies.

• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.

• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Full-time availability during UK business hours.

• Must have current legal authorization to work in Argentina; Caylent is unable to sponsor visa or work permit applications.
