VP, Relationship Director – Investment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as the representative of Avantis Investors in the Texas external marketplace.

• Comprehend and convey Avantis Investors’ investment philosophy and process, along with American Century’s unique narrative.

• Increase assets under management, particularly with fee-based Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs).

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and seize sales opportunities.

• Develop and enhance the strategic distribution plan.

• Foster relationships and maintain an active pipeline with fee-based advisors across the nation.

• Drive the development of a consultative, solutions-oriented sales methodology.

• Establish a consistent and systematic method for identifying, prospecting, and engaging potential partners.

• Collaborate with product development, marketing, and investments to ensure competitive positioning in client and product offerings.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in selling to sophisticated, fee-based RIAs, along with direct relationships and experience with RIAs.

• Capability to engage in sophisticated discussions with clients regarding portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.

• Comprehensive understanding of general portfolio behavior and capital markets.

• Ability to represent Avantis Investors’ unique investment philosophy and process in a highly consultative and persuasive manner.

• Possess intellectual curiosity and strong analytical abilities.

• Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where ambiguity and hands-on responsibilities are prevalent.

• Embrace a collaborative, team-oriented sales culture with a proactive attitude.

• Bachelor’s degree is required.

• Must possess FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, or equivalent as mandated by the state, or have the ability to obtain these licenses promptly.

• Willingness to travel to client and industry events.

• Familiarity with ETF platforms, key decision-makers, products, and philosophies is highly advantageous.

• A graduate degree (MBA) and/or relevant professional designation (CFA, CAIA) is preferred.
