This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Deliver corporate-level accounting support for a company operating across multiple states.
• Assist with project cost accounting, the preparation of financial statements, trial balance reconciliations, audits, and various other accounting functions.
• Prepare, review, and analyze accounting and financial records, systems, and activities to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
• Identify inadequate controls, redundant efforts, excessive costs, regulatory or legal non-compliance, fraud, and mismanagement practices.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 842 by monitoring lease schedules, preparing journal entries, and collaborating with operations and legal departments.
• Report on asset utilization and audit findings to management.
• Propose enhancements to financial processes.
• Review accounts, investigate discrepancies, and conduct reconciliations.
• Analyze operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast revenues or expenses.
• Provide accounting support for significant projects.
• Prepare documentation and facilitate both internal and external audits.
• Execute corporate closing activities, including account and transaction analysis, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop standard work processes and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of the closing process.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, controls, accounting procedures, data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems, and corporate policies.
• Carry out other duties as required and requested.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in a senior accounting role.
• Experience in lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
• Background in supporting mergers and acquisitions purchase accounting calculations.
• Required knowledge and experience with ERP systems; MS Dynamics 365 is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience with general ledger and familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and mathematical reasoning abilities.
• Capability to interpret data and navigate various situations effectively.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to thrive in a high-performing team environment.
