Lead Finance Specialist – Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Conduct thorough analysis and create supplemental schedules and disclosures.

• Prepare and maintain periodic NAIC financial statement schedules, exhibits, and various regulatory filings.

• Execute account reconciliations for both GAAP and statutory accounting.

• Generate routine monthly and quarterly journal entries.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the accounting field.

• Implement functional policies and strategies drawing on previous experience and expertise.

• Assist with internal and external audits.

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Statutory accounting, oversee financial and operational internal controls, drive process simplification, and promote operational excellence.

• Provide precise financial reporting and analysis of actuals.

• Leverage knowledge of key business drivers and the integration of the team with other departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.

• Experience within the insurance industry is mandatory.

• Proven capability to analyze and resolve complex issues.

• Skills in documenting, planning, marketing, and implementing programs.

• Strong project management abilities.

• Experience in public accounting is preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as necessary.
