VP of Trust & Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate a high-performing Trust & Safety team, fostering a culture of empathy, integrity, and dedication to user safety.

• Direct the Product function by establishing the Trust and Safety product strategy, tools, and operational support.

• Propel VRChat's trust and safety strategy by defining goals and metrics that align with the company’s objectives.

• Collaborate across Product teams to integrate trust and safety into product design and development.

• Supervise the moderation of content and user behavior reports to ensure compliance with community guidelines and policies.

• Formulate and execute policies, processes, and training programs for scalable and consistent moderation and user safety.

• Engage with the broader trust and safety ecosystem, including technology firms, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.

• Act as a primary contact for executive leadership, delivering updates and strategic insights.

• Keep track of industry trends and regulatory changes concerning online safety.

• Report to the VP of Product and collaborate with leadership across various functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Proven track record (5+ years) in trust and safety leadership, including management experience, within a consumer-facing technology company; experience in online gaming, social media, and/or community-centric platforms is advantageous.

• Solid understanding of content moderation practices, digital safety frameworks, and policy formulation.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams with a focus on safety, well-being, and efficiency.

• Capacity to work collaboratively across departments and advocate for trust and safety requirements with key stakeholders.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex safety concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with data analysis and KPI tracking, emphasizing continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Enthusiasm for VR, online communities, and creating safe, inclusive digital environments.
