This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Design and implement the ESH legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs strategy in alignment with the business objectives, growth initiatives, and priorities of ESH and CareSource.
• Act as a trusted advisor to ESH executive leadership on matters related to legal, compliance, regulatory, governance, risk, and strategic business issues.
• Direct the ESH legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs functions to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, contractual commitments, and government program mandates.
• Collaborate with CareSource’s legal and compliance teams to manage key work and address issues effectively.
• Anticipate, evaluate, and mitigate legal, compliance, regulatory, and business risks.
• Spearhead legal, compliance, and regulatory strategies for growth, business integration, market expansion, and transformation initiatives.
• Assess emerging legislative, regulatory, and industry changes, and develop readiness strategies accordingly.
• Establish and uphold frameworks for legal, compliance, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Provide executive oversight and legal guidance for major business transactions, strategic partnerships, governance activities, and initiatives.
• Represent ESH in dealings with regulators, external counsel, industry stakeholders, and business partners.
• Enhance legal, compliance, and regulatory capabilities through leadership, talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Set departmental priorities, resource strategies, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Promote integrity, accountability, ethical behavior, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Juris Doctor (J.D) degree from an accredited law school is required.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in legal and compliance roles is required.
• A current unrestricted license to practice law is mandatory.
• Experience in healthcare, managed care, regulatory, corporate, or government program law is preferred.
• At least five (5) years of leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and government-sponsored healthcare programs.
• Strategic leadership and business acumen are essential.
• Expertise in legal, regulatory, and risk management.
• Proficient executive communication and influencing abilities.
• Skills in negotiation and relationship management.
• Experience in leading organizational change and transformation.
• Financial and operational management proficiency.
• Capabilities in talent development and succession planning.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, integrity, and confidentiality.
