VP, Fulfillment Planning – Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of Stord's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process throughout the fulfillment network.

• Transform customer and order forecasts into operational plans that encompass labor, infrastructure, training, and support.

• Collaborate with CX and customers to gain insights into order volume, promotions, launches, seasonality, and other demand drivers.

• Convert forecasts into site-, process-, shift-, and time-specific operational requirements.

• Validate forecasts by analyzing inbound inventory and historical demand trends.

• Identify potential forecast risks and develop upside, downside, and expected-demand scenarios.

• Establish a planning rhythm across customers, sites, and support functions.

• Translate demand into workforce plans tailored by site, shift, process path, and time frame.

• Collaborate with Operations and People teams regarding hiring, staffing, scheduling, and training initiatives.

• Monitor labor demand in comparison to actual labor delivery and highlight any gaps.

• Develop and refine labor planning models that consider productivity, attendance, attrition, ramp curves, and seasonality.

• Convert operational forecasts into readiness requirements for MHE, EHS & Facilities, Procurement, Industrial Engineering & Continuous Improvement, and Training.

• Translate S&OP plans into requirements, owners, milestones, and delivery timelines.

• Maintain visibility of operational readiness, track dependencies, escalate risks, and ensure team accountability.

• Provide executives with insights into network readiness, risks, and necessary interventions.

• Monitor actual inbound and outbound volume against forecasts.

• Measure forecast accuracy and continuously enhance forecasts and resource plans.

• Analyze the reasons for forecast discrepancies and incorporate learnings back into the S&OP process.

• Develop a scalable and increasingly precise planning organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience managing S&OP, workforce planning, labor planning, capacity planning, or network planning at scale within a large, intricate fulfillment, distribution, retail, manufacturing, or logistics network.

• Profound understanding of how order forecasts translate into labor hours, productivity needs, equipment, space, training, and operational capacity.

• Proven track record in environments where demand fluctuates rapidly and planning errors result in immediate operational and financial repercussions.

• Strong analytical abilities complemented by an operational instinct.

• Capacity to challenge assumptions from Operations and planning teams.

• Outstanding cross-functional program management capabilities.

• Proficiency in fostering accountability among senior leaders and creating structure across functions without direct management of all involved teams.

• Experience in developing planning processes, systems, and teams that can scale with a rapidly growing business.
