VP, Data Operations – Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete lifecycle of investment data within the CEPRES Platform.

• Direct global data operations and analytics teams.

• Lead the collection, processing, validation, and delivery of high-quality investment data.

• Enhance data operations to adapt to changing client and business needs.

• Define KPIs and SLAs for quality, productivity, turnaround times, and service performance.

• Build and nurture a high-performing global organization that emphasizes accountability, operational excellence, and ongoing improvement.

• Promote process enhancements, automation, and scalable operating models to boost operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Commercial teams, and senior leadership to translate client requirements into scalable operational solutions and improvements in data delivery.

• Lead and develop the global data management team, including data analysts and operations specialists.

• Standardize operational reporting, KPI definitions, and performance metrics.

• Develop scalable processes and tools that ensure dataset accuracy, consistency, completeness, and timeliness.

• Streamline end-to-end data management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

• Propel documentation, standardization, and the adoption of best practices within the data analyst function.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and security standards.

• Establish and operate KPI-driven data flow and quality measurement systems for productivity and senior management reporting.

• Formulate capacity and workforce plans aligned with business demands.

• Monitor service delivery performance and contractual obligations, ensuring SLA compliance, and addressing risks to client satisfaction and business outcomes.

• Advocate for the use of LLMs and GenAI tools to enhance data quality, automation, and decision-making.

• Collaborate with technology, product, and business leaders to prioritize data initiatives and guarantee timely, high-quality delivery.

• Set and uphold data governance, quality, and security standards.

• Assess and enhance data quality, consistency, and completeness.

• Implement data governance policies, access controls, and lineage tracking.

• Act as a strategic partner to product, engineering, commercial, and executive teams.

• Equip stakeholders with the tools, documentation, and training necessary for effective data usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with an MBA in finance or similar areas preferred.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in data operations, stewardship, or Data Strategy, governance, and/or analytics.

• At least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Deep understanding of data pipelines and associated technologies as well as software delivery lifecycle processes.

• Sound knowledge of new LLM technologies and their practical application to data products and workflows.

• Demonstrated ability to manage custom, client-facing analyses and project delivery in a financial or B2B context.

• Strong understanding of data privacy and security standards concerning data governance.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

• Strong project and operational management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage risks, and drive continuous process improvement.

• Experience in private markets or financial data is highly preferred.

• Background in private markets, asset management, venture capital, or investment data is advantageous.

• Proven history of leading data engineering/data science teams at scale, translating business strategies into a technical data roadmap, and influencing senior stakeholders is preferred.
