VoIP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of all Telephony services and their integration with the platform.

• Operate, maintain, enhance, and provide support for SIP proxies utilizing Kamailio or OpenSIPS applications.

• Manage level 3 troubleshooting escalations and perform triaging activities.

• Analyze telephony traffic patterns to identify issues and anomalies.

• Respond to critical alerts promptly to restore full service functionality.

• Troubleshoot and resolve communication issues related to voice and network protocols.

• Collaborate with partner organizations for interconnections and system expansions.

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain monitoring, alerting, quality assurance, and logging tools for Telephony applications.

• Coordinate system maintenance and deployment activities.

• Work with global users to address communication challenges.

• Collaborate with engineers, business, sales, and operations teams to develop features and resolve user pain points.

• Provide guidance to software developers on feature implementation and act as the telephony subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of IP telephony (VoIP), TCP/IP Networks, and associated protocols (SIP, RTP, RTCP, ISUP, TLS, STUN, TURN, WebRTC).

• Experience with Open Source VoIP applications such as Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, RTPEngine, Asterisk, and tools like Wireshark, sngrep, and Homer.

• Proficiency in Linux, Open Source tools, and shell scripting.

• Familiarity with containerization and automation/orchestration tools such as Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in programming with Python, Elixir, or Go is an advantage.
