πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Conduct core design and neutronics analysis for cycle design and reloads, encompassing lattice physics generation and core loading optimization.

β€’ Provide safety-related physics information to engineering design, analysis interfaces, and licensing requirements.

β€’ Prepare core monitoring inputs, COLR inputs, and technical documentation to support operations.

β€’ Convert method limits, assumptions, and uncertainties into actionable guidance for plant engineering and operations.

β€’ Configure, validate, and sustain core monitoring software models and their inputs.

β€’ Design, analyze, and facilitate the deployment of neutron source assemblies, including mechanical and neutronics evaluations.

β€’ Evaluate design and licensing foundations and identify associated risks, challenges, and opportunities.

β€’ Ensure the alignment and integration of licensed methods for customers and end users.

β€’ Provide technical leadership, oversee complex analysis tasks, and mentor junior engineers.

β€’ Prepare and verify engineering reports, calculations, studies, system descriptions, requirement specifications, and additional design documentation.

β€’ Assist in the development and maintenance of licensed nuclear design methods and the corresponding implementing analyses.

β€’ Coordinate analysis milestones with operational schedules, outage windows, and reload execution plans.

β€’ Relay technical information across various disciplines and with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers and regulatory bodies.

β€’ Generate innovative solutions to complex technical challenges and perform analyses with minimal supervision.

β€’ Adapt to shifting organizational priorities, including urgent analysis needs, cross-functional reviews, technical troubleshooting, and special studies.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of a B.S. degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or a related field) from a four-year accredited institution.

β€’ An M.S. in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

β€’ At least 8 years of full-time, directly relevant engineering experience is required.

β€’ Proven experience in implementing engineering design processes for core design, neutronics, reactor engineering, and associated safety analysis.

β€’ Experience in fuel design or fuel performance is advantageous.

β€’ Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

β€’ Practical knowledge and experience in PWR reactor physics analyses.

β€’ Understanding and application of quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including phone and personal interactions.

β€’ Ability to quickly learn new job functions and comprehend, understand, and apply new concepts in a fast-paced environment.

β€’ Willingness to travel nationally and locally using common modes of transportation.
