Vocational Case Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Create and implement transitional return-to-work strategies, which include job accommodations, modifications to the worksite, and vocational retraining.

• Oversee job placement services and track progress to ensure timely reintegration into the workforce.

• Engage with claimants in the return-to-work planning process, establish expectations, and assist with preparatory activities.

• Communicate with treating physicians to clarify functional abilities and integrate return-to-work initiatives into treatment plans.

• Collaborate with Ability Analysts, Clinical Case Managers, and external partners to identify necessary tools and resources.

• Advocate for the needs of claimants while balancing the expectations of employers and insurers.

• Provide training in job-seeking skills, including resume creation, interview preparation, and application strategies.

• Offer vocational advice, counseling, and educational support.

• Coordinate cost-effective vocational training or retraining initiatives.

• Research local labor markets to identify suitable employment opportunities.

• Assess transferable skills and suggest alternative job placements that align with the capabilities of claimants.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Counseling or a related discipline.

• Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) is mandatory.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical or vocational rehabilitation is preferred.

• Experience in Employee/Group Benefits, workers’ compensation, disability management, or similar environments is ideal.

• Strong knowledge of return-to-work best practices, ergonomics, FMLA, ADA/accommodations, and associated HR topics.

• Familiarity with labor market analysis tools and vocational assessment techniques.

• Exceptional communication, counseling, and interpersonal abilities.

• Capacity to analyze complex vocational challenges and devise innovative solutions.

• Proficiency in case management systems and adherence to documentation standards.
