This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses related to engineering technology over eight-week sessions.
• Support student learning in compliance with DeVry University standards.
• Create course syllabi and lesson plans that align with course and program goals.
• Prepare, organize, revise, and update educational materials for courses.
• Utilize online technologies, websites, email, discussions, and course-relevant software.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication to engage students and simplify complex ideas.
• Publish course objectives, assignment deadlines, examination dates, and grading criteria.
• Ensure that examinations are in line with course terminal objectives.
• Prepare and grade exams consistently and with fairness.
• Provide prompt feedback to students.
• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into the teaching and learning processes.
• Identify, assess, and address the appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.
• Complete other assigned responsibilities.
• Ph.D. in Engineering Technology, Engineering, Applied Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in engineering technology, applied engineering, systems engineering, electronics, manufacturing technology, or related technical fields.
• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.
• The degree must be conferred by an institution accredited by an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an internationally equivalent accredited entity.
• Three to five years of practical professional experience in engineering technology, technical systems implementation, manufacturing settings, industrial systems, or applied engineering positions.
• Experience with applied engineering technologies and technical systems, including contemporary tools, instrumentation, automation systems, or industry engineering technologies.
• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to engineering technology, industrial systems, automation, or applied technical fields.
• Subject matter expertise in applied engineering principles and technical problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clarify complex technical concepts for diverse learners.
• Familiarity with engineering standards, safety practices, and quality assurance procedures in technical and industrial contexts.
• Commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
• Additional state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation requirements may apply.
• Preferred: industry certifications related to engineering technology, industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or applied technical fields.
• Preferred: experience with automation systems, robotics, instrumentation, computer-aided design, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Preferred: experience with systems engineering, technical troubleshooting, process improvement, and system integration.
• Preferred: experience with continuous improvement, production management, or technical project management.
• Preferred: experience with accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, curriculum alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Preferred: two to five years of experience in post-secondary teaching.
• Preferred: active membership or involvement in professional engineering or engineering technology organizations.
• Preferred: experience in integrating laboratory instruction, technical simulations, engineering design projects, and applied problem-solving activities.
