Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization environments.

• Oversee software-defined networking and software-defined storage systems.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.

• Automate operational tasks and oversee capacity management.

• Operate VMware platforms at a large enterprise scale.

• Utilize disciplined automation and operational methodologies.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Manage disaster recovery strategies and utilize SRM.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Proficiency with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.

• Strong skills in PowerCLI scripting and familiarity with automation tools.

• Knowledge of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.

• Solid understanding of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is a plus.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is desirable.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration projects from VMware to other virtualization platforms is advantageous.
