Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization solutions.

• Oversee software-defined networking and software-defined storage systems.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu environments.

• Automate platform operations and oversee capacity management.

• Manage a substantial VMware estate in conjunction with modern cloud-native workloads.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Implement enterprise-scale VMware platform engineering and operational practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience is required.

• At least five years of hands-on experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Understanding of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.

• Strong grasp of disaster recovery methodologies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to other virtualization platforms is preferred.
