Senior VDI / Citrix Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, integrate, and sustain virtual desktop infrastructure solutions in both on-premises and cloud settings

• Establish system architecture for both new and existing VDI environments

• Create enterprise-level and solution-level designs for VDI systems in on-premises and cloud contexts

• Deploy and enhance cloud-based VDI solutions across various providers, including AWS and Azure

• Integrate Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and AWS WorkSpaces with the current infrastructure

• Develop and manage gold images, application packaging, and software offerings

• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, management tools, and system software

• Administer Windows Server, Linux/Unix, IAM solutions, and large-scale integrations

• Uphold necessary security posture and implement updates and remediation

• Construct, migrate, and test AWS and Azure environments and their integrations

• Utilize CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible for infrastructure as code

• Automate operational processes and enhance cloud hosting capabilities

• Monitor and sustain infrastructure to fulfill client requirements

• Provide documentation, technical briefings, and support during program status reviews

• Collaborate with remote teams and offer occasional after-hours on-call support

• Coordinate with cloud hosting infrastructure teams

• Deploy large-scale environments through infrastructure as code

• Quickly prototype to refine system requirements and technical specifications

• Maintain environment configurations in accordance with industry standards and best practices

• Remediate application and package installations

• Develop templates or scripts to automate functions for developers and operations

• Identify tools and processes to enhance cloud platforms

• Prepare technical documentation and briefing materials for reviews and control gates

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field

• Over 10 years of relevant experience

• At least 4–5 years in VDI engineering or systems engineering

• Active Secret clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance

• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+) certification

• Technical expertise in Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and AWS WorkSpaces

• Experience in Windows/Linux administration

• Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible

• Experience in Identity & Access Management, profile management, and large-scale system integration

• US citizenship is required

• Desired Citrix certifications, such as CCAV or CCP-V

• Desired experience with Azure Virtual Desktop; ARM/BICEP templates and automation

• Desired familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and project lifecycle workflows

• Willingness to travel 10–25%
