Engineer II – Relay Settings, System Protection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, specify, calculate settings, and coordinate protective relaying along with relay control schemes.

• Conduct modeling, short-circuit, and overstressed-breaker studies.

• Formulate protective relaying recommendations for proposed generation interconnections to clients’ electrical systems.

• Ensure that relay-settings activities, initiatives, and processes align with company policies, objectives, and client design standards.

• Provide technical solutions to key customers.

• Address technical concerns in real-time and respond to inquiries knowledgeably and articulately.

• Collaborate with Qualus teams and individuals to develop and execute technical solutions that support the objectives of the Engineering Department.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a focus on power systems from an ABET accredited institution.

• 1–3 years of experience in protection and control engineering, including relay settings.

• Familiarity with ASPEN or CAPE software.

• Strong analytical abilities and proficient computer skills.

• Capability to identify necessary software for completing design tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of support personnel.

• Strong dedication to customer service and care.

• Highly driven self-starter.

• Demonstrated multitasking abilities.
