Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization systems.

• Manage software-defined networking and software-defined storage systems.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Utilize vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu in operations.

• Automate the management of platform operations and oversee capacity.

• Maintain a large VMware environment alongside contemporary cloud-native workloads.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Implement disaster recovery strategies and SRM during platform operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required.

• At least five years of hands-on experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking technologies.

• Proficient PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tools.

• Knowledge of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• Strong grasp of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, network, and storage domains.

• Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Experience with migration projects from VMware to other virtualization platforms is preferred.
