Virtualization Administrator – VMware, VCF

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Administer, configure, and maintain VMware environments and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

• Provide support for Nutanix, Hyper-V, and OLVM/KVM platforms as needed.

• Manage host updates, VMware lifecycle patching, and approved configuration changes.

• Monitor the health and performance of virtual machines and hosts.

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and virtualization incidents.

• Apply security best practices and contribute to compliance with standards.

• Maintain and enhance scripts and tools for automation, provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.

• Collaborate with IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors on infrastructure projects.

• Evaluate new capabilities and technological improvements and participate in proof of concept testing.

• Keep technical documentation up to date and track the health, performance, and capacity of platforms.

• Participate in a guard rotation of approximately one week per month.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience supporting and operating virtualization infrastructures and related services.

• Demonstrable hands-on experience in installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

• Experience with VCF Operations and VCF Automation.

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible.

• Experience applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with Terraform, particularly in the provisioning and management of VMware vSphere resources.

• Proficient in command-line tools for managing virtualized systems.

• Secondary education or equivalent, supplemented with specialized IT training.

• Professional-level English proficiency.

• Availability to participate in the rotating guard system.

• Knowledge of public cloud platforms and storage management in virtualized environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.

• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is valued.

• Knowledge of Continuous Data Protection (CDP) solutions is appreciated.

• Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

• VMware, HashiCorp Terraform, Red Hat Ansible Automation, ITIL, ISO20000, or PRINCE2 Foundation certifications are valued.
