
Virtual Territory Business Manager – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Lead demand generation, customer engagement, and business performance within a designated territory.
• Assist with commercial activities before and after product launches.
• Implement approved strategic and tactical plans to meet territory goals.
• Ensure launch readiness, product commercialization, and ongoing business growth primarily through digital and remote interactions.
• Build trusted partnerships with retina specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, genetic counselors, academic medical centers, referral networks, and other healthcare stakeholders.
• Educate stakeholders on disease states and identify suitable patients.
• Promote the adoption of innovative therapies.
• Leverage customer insights, market analytics, competitive intelligence, and territory performance data to uncover opportunities and prioritize accounts.
• Anticipate obstacles to adoption and execute targeted strategies.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, and field-based teams.
• Engage healthcare professionals and support staff through telephone, video conferencing, email, and approved digital channels.
• Transform national brand strategy into a territory business strategy and tactical plan.
• Conduct pre-call planning, clinical messaging, patient access education, virtual customer interactions, presentations, webinars, and remote educational programs.
• Track lead and lag indicators and communicate competitive intelligence and field insights to sales leadership.
• Maintain precise records of customer interactions, account plans, and territory activities in approved CRM systems.
• Report to the Regional Sales Director.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty healthcare sales, inside sales, virtual sales, or customer engagement.
• Proven track record of business success.
• Ophthalmology experience is highly preferred.
• Preferred experience in virtual pharmaceutical sales or omnichannel customer engagement.
• Strong understanding of ophthalmology practices, retina centers, academic medical centers, referral networks, and the ophthalmology market landscape.
• Preferred knowledge of inherited retinal diseases, ophthalmology treatment pathways, and patient identification processes.
• Demonstrated capability to develop, execute, and manage strategic account plans in a virtual setting.
• Proven success in cultivating customer relationships and influencing treatment adoption through remote engagement methods.
• Existing connections with ophthalmologists, retina specialists, IRD specialists, genetic counselors, and key opinion leaders are highly valued.
• Experience in supporting therapies that necessitate genetic testing or specialty patient identification processes is preferred.
• Rare disease launch experience is preferred.
• Preferred experience in virtual pharmaceutical sales, inside sales, customer success, tele-sales, or omnichannel engagement.
• Demonstrated success in utilizing digital engagement strategies to enhance customer adoption and business performance.
• Ability to effectively communicate approved clinical and scientific information while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
