Virtual Teacher, Social Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five or more hours daily on each scheduled instructional day.

• Develop an engaging and well-structured virtual classroom environment.

• Utilize student performance data to tailor instruction and identify areas of improvement.

• Modify teaching strategies to accommodate each student's unique needs.

• Deliver timely and constructive feedback on student assignments.

• Keep accurate records to ensure students and families remain informed and on track.

• Foster relationships with students and families through proactive and professional communication.

• Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support for students.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline.

• Valid state teaching license with an endorsement in Social Science, for grades 6-12.

• Preferred licensure in states such as Idaho, Alabama, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and/or Indiana.

• Experience teaching in both virtual and in-person environments.

• Comfortable managing the demands of a live online classroom.

• Capability to teach live on camera for five or more consecutive hours each instructional day.

• Practical experience with online learning platforms, virtual teaching tools, and standard productivity software.

• Proficient in analyzing student performance data to adapt instruction accordingly.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational, self-management, and time management abilities.

• Ability to independently handle a full student caseload in a remote setting.

• Dedication to professional development, maintaining certification, and staying updated on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.
