Virtual School Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Facilitate the social, emotional, and academic growth of students

• Collaborate with staff and families to tailor academic programming for individual students

• Develop and uphold graduation and career plans

• Implement proactive guidance curriculum for both individuals and groups

• Address the needs of individuals and groups through responsive counseling and programming

• Evaluate transcripts for transfer students and communicate appropriate course placements

• Oversee and review active student transcripts and guide credit award procedures

• Deliver career readiness curriculum and assist in the creation of career plans

• Provide Social-Emotional Learning curriculum

• Develop and maintain Student 504 plans

• Analyze student data to offer insights on academic programs and interventions

• Travel within Florida as necessary to support testing initiatives and school events

• Carry out additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Florida

• Possess a valid State Counselor license

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree and have at least one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Familiarity with the ASCA model

• Experience in K-12 online education

• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications

• Capacity to manage confidential information with discretion

• Skill in navigating challenging or emotional situations and making evidence-based decisions

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Competence in working effectively under pressure, prioritizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines

• Customer service mindset

• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment

• Must successfully pass federal and state criminal background checks

• Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred
