This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Deliver crisis, suicide, and homicide intervention counseling via telephone to individuals seeking emergency or crisis support.

• Identify suitable organizations and service providers to fulfill the needs of callers.

• Monitor the situations of callers through follow-up case management.

• Accurately document and maintain records of telephone interventions during work shifts.

• Review daily and pass-through call reports to ensure precise documentation and record-keeping.

• Supervise and oversee volunteers and/or staff counselors during assigned shifts.

• Provide training and consultation on crisis intervention and suicide awareness and prevention.

• Attend individual supervision, as well as staff and team meetings, along with necessary CIC, 988, and SCS training sessions.

• Represent the CIC in various internal and external activities aimed at promoting awareness, prevention of crises and suicides, and available resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the Greater Louisville area.

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Services, or a related field; a degree in Psychology is preferred.

• Active CIC volunteers may qualify with a high school diploma or GED, successful completion of all AAS/988/Vibrant required training for Crisis/Suicide Intervention Counselor certification, and a minimum of six months of independent volunteer service after training.

• At least one year of experience in crisis intervention services or behavioral health services is required.

• Capacity to make sound decisions and judgments in high-pressure, potentially life-threatening, or atypical situations.

• Strong work ethic and dedication to meeting the operational demands of a 24/7/365 emergency mental health service provider.

• Effective communication skills in a remote team setting.

• Commitment to ensuring confidentiality for both callers and colleagues.

• Openness to suspend personal judgments regarding callers who present with a variety of issues.
