Virtual Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization platforms.

• Create, deploy, and oversee software-defined networking solutions.

• Develop, implement, and maintain software-defined storage solutions.

• Provide support for both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.

• Utilize tools such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu.

• Execute automation and manage capacity effectively.

• Manage a substantial VMware estate in conjunction with modern cloud-native workloads.

• Navigate the changing VMware product landscape with a pragmatic approach.

• Implement strong automation practices and operational discipline.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.

• At least five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Profound knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Strong skills in PowerCLI scripting and experience with automation tools.

• Acquainted with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• In-depth understanding of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, networking, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms is preferred.
