Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and refine highly available, efficient, and resilient systems as traffic and complexity increase.

• Recognize bottlenecks, enhance critical paths, and design systems for graceful failure.

• Enhance cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering environments.

• Advance observability, debugging, deployments, and incident response processes.

• Develop primitives, abstractions, and automation to minimize operational toil and accelerate engineering workflows.

• Convert financial and regulatory requirements into effective technical systems.

• Incorporate auditability, access control, and data integrity within systems.

• Collaborate across infrastructure, backend systems, and the application layer.

• Strengthen foundational systems and deliver new platform primitives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive engineering experience at a senior level, integrating deep systems thinking with product judgment.

• Proficiency in backend and systems engineering, including distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and managing production systems at scale.

• Significant experience with relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and ensuring data integrity and performance.

• Capability to navigate complex technical trade-offs, foresee potential failure modes, and select maintainable solutions.

• Competence in working across infrastructure, backend, and application layers.

• Product-oriented mindset that balances speed, simplicity, and robustness.

• Commitment to owning outcomes from start to finish, encompassing problem identification through to operation and enhancement.

• Enthusiasm for building abstractions, tooling, and automation solutions.

• Security-focused approach regarding security, access control, and auditability.

• Experience in payments, billing, or financial infrastructure is a strong advantage.

• Contributions to open-source projects and personal side initiatives are appreciated.

• Familiarity with the specified technology stack: TypeScript, React, Effect, Python, FastAPI, Dramatiq, Postgres, ClickHouse, and AWS.
