Virtual Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization environments.

• Manage software-defined networking and software-defined storage solutions.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.

• Automate platform operations and oversee capacity management.

• Operate VMware platforms at an enterprise level.

• Apply operational rigor to extensive VMware environments alongside cloud-native workloads.

• Diagnose issues across computing, networking, and storage layers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience.

• At least five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• In-depth knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Knowledge of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• Strong comprehension of disaster recovery strategies and Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across computing, networking, and storage layers.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• U.S. work authorization is required: U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Preferred: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications.

• Preferred: Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE.

• Preferred: Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

• Preferred: Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations.

• Preferred: Exposure to migration projects from VMware to other virtualization platforms.
