This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +38 more states.
β’ Provide tutoring in elementary math by utilizing the supplied lesson materials and supplementary practice resources.
β’ Assist students in grades Kβ8 throughout the United States.
β’ Conduct regular, weekly virtual tutoring sessions consistently.
β’ Offer tutoring services during the academic year from September to May.
β’ Generally, sessions last for 30 minutes.
β’ Ensure an attendance rate of at least 80% for claimed tutoring sessions.
β’ Determine tutoring hours and claim either individual sessions or recurring series.
β’ Offer backup support by making unavailable sessions available for peers to claim.
β’ Engage in the application and onboarding process.
β’ Possibly complete a five-minute recorded tutoring demonstration.
β’ Fulfill onboarding requirements, which include setting up a payment account, undergoing an FBI background check, and obtaining paid tutor certification.
β’ Experience as a classroom teacher, in EL/ESL/ELL, tutoring, coaching, or similar student support roles.
β’ Experience in online instruction.
β’ A college degree is preferred.
β’ Capability to deliver pre-designed, best-practice math lessons effectively.
β’ Ability to assist students in improving their skills and understanding topics at or below their grade level.
β’ Aptitude for building meaningful professional relationships with students.
β’ Skills to create an encouraging and motivating learning atmosphere.
β’ Ability to provide constructive corrections to students.
β’ Access to a computer (laptop or desktop) equipped with a webcam.
β’ A clean, distraction-free workspace.
β’ Reliable high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.
β’ Must reside in and conduct tutoring from one of the specified eligible U.S. states or Washington, DC.
β’ All sessions must be claimed and conducted from within the 50 United States or Washington, DC.
β’ Compensation for completed and attended sessions, independent of student attendance.
β’ Additional seasonal incentive payments for certain sessions.
β’ No lesson preparation is necessary; curriculum materials, lesson frameworks, and virtual tools are provided.
β’ Flexible scheduling options allowing for the claiming of individual sessions or recurring series.
β’ Backup coverage options available for up to 20% of claimed sessions.
β’ Access to a collaborative national community of educators.
β’ Participation in a proven, highly effective tutoring program.
β’ FBI background check costs reimbursed up to $99.
