Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration and deployment of VMware vSphere v7.0 and Horizon View 8.

• Create and document new infrastructure deployment strategies.

• Manage systems for a Navy client within a secure and modernized computing environment.

• Ensure the functionality and availability of student training infrastructure.

• Configure and maintain virtual desktop environments.

• Monitor systems and carry out performance management tasks.

• Identify areas of concern and opportunities for enhancement within a mission-critical network.

• Transform metrics into actionable insights and effectively communicate their implications.

• Work collaboratively with the team to exchange techniques, address challenges, and develop methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must have and retain an active Secret Clearance.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.

• Proficient in electronic documentation practices.

• Experience in system administration is essential.

• Background in network administration is required.

• Security+ certification or a qualifying bachelor's degree to fulfill DoD8140 DCWF WRC 451 requirements.

• Experience supporting DoD network systems is necessary.

• Familiarity with Dell or Cisco UCS server management.

• Experience in implementing VMware and Windows STIGs.

• Proficient in PowerShell, PowerCLI, or NaviCLI.

• Experience with EMC VNX, XtremIO, or Unity storage arrays utilizing fiber channel or FCoE.

• Knowledge of DoD security compliance auditing, DoD hardening, RMF, STIGs, and PKI.

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization Certification or a higher level is preferred.
